Well, there is a West Coast too. Here we have good weather all year round and the accoustics in all our clubs is perfect. The girls just sit around peeling grapes and no one yells 'awoo awoo!' while the band plays. After each gig it's cigars 'n' brandy on the beach. Isn't Darla Music out here? Can't those moghuls spot the Crispies a showcase performance out here?

Saw the NYC show at The Knitting Factory. Loved it! Good mixture of Scissorgun, old and unfamiliar (to me) material. Sound was great (except the synth); band was great; played two encores; a very appreciative audience.

Wow, this takes me back. I first listened to "The Plateau Phase" in 1987, aged 18 in NZ. Will always be an integral part of my musical and spiritual awakening! When are you playing London? (I've never seen you live).

Finally saw CA at the Knitting Factory on Sunday night. Sat next to this kid who had driven from Cincannatti. When I told him I was amused that he was taping the show, he replied "This is history!". And, of course the boys pretty much played their asses off. Ah well...guess we won't be seeing 'em back in NY for a while. Thanks, dudes.

I hear you played new material at the Manchester gig. Any chance of a sequel to the superb Scisorgun? Please play London!

Finally saw the band on Saturday. Slightly disappointed about the lack of early material but enjoyed it all the same. Chuffed at finally getting to see one of my favourite bands. Cheers, lads. Enjoy America.

Where did the idea for the band's name come from?

Just found out today that C.A. are playing at the Khyber in Philly on Nov. 7 - about 20 minutes from where I live. I am positively beside myself with glee. After listening obsessively to Plateau Phase and Fin (and more recently Frozen Blood and Scissorgun) for a few years I never thought I would see them play live, let alone in my hometown. I can't wait.

Fellas, can't you make it out to the west coast for some sun? I don't believe you have ever been out here and there are more than enough listeners in LA. Although I'm in San Diego, I would drive the six hours to San Francisco just to see Crispy play. What about it? Can I suggest some clubs for you to contact?

Hello again, Crispy Ambulance (what a wonderful, cool band name). I saw your new CD by chance on holiday in California but first bought your Frozen Blood. I was really astonished you are back - great. I feel like I am back in the eighties. Play in Germany and I will be there - Berlin would be great!!!! All the best to you guys!

Just saw 24 Hour Party People and unfortunately no mention of Crispy Ambulance. There WAS an extended clip of an actor playing Simon Topping, singing Skipscada, so that was fun. Perhaps a revival of interest for the old Factory bands is in the works? Anyway, where's the announcement of that USA gig? I again recommend that Section 25 tag along! And, I assume that gig's going to be in NYC, no? Try Tonic or the Knitting Factory as appropriately hip venues.

Just listening to Scissorgun as I type this and WOW! Just brilliant. Can't wait for you guys to come to the States. Phoenix would be perfect, but L.A. is close enough.

Ah! Like a hug from mom! Like macaroni and cheese on a cool fall day! The Return of the Crispy Ambulance! Please, please come to Chicago!

Just got your new Scissorgun CD... Fantastic. As good as or better than The Plateau Phase, which I originally bought on vinyl on Factory here in "The States" in the mid-1980's. Play it for people and they wonder what you guys came from. Will you come to the Twin Cities? Certainly like to see you guys bring up the old Factory ghosts.

Having my second listen to Scissorgun right now. It arrived from Darla today. Fantastic album! I can't wait to see you guys over here later this year. By the time I got through Metal Grey and into Re-animator on my first listen, I was brought right back to the 80's, as if Scissorgun were just the next release in a natural progression for the band. After more than 16 years! Way to go!! Will you please play all of Live on a Hot August Night when you come to NY?

I downloaded Loupgarou from Audiogalaxy and I think it's fab. I'll definitely look out for Scissorgun in the shops.

Just bought Scissorgun, but haven't listened to it yet...sounds as though I'm in for a treat when I do, as the feedback on this page so far is excellent. By the way, can anyone tell me where I can get hold of copies of the first two Crispy Ambulance singles?

Congratulations on the new record, Scissorgun. It's fantastic! Please keep me posted on ANY tour dates, particularly here in the United States (I will travel at ANY lengths!!!).

Since we have an American chorus here, I will add my voice. Scissorgun has not left my CD player much. It is one remarkable achievment after twenty years. Gone is some of the posturing of the austere young men of the past. In its place is a looser, more relaxed but no less potent rock band. Sounds like these guys are having fun after all these years - and why not? They have earned it. Damned if Alan Hempsall's voice doesn't sound better than ever. One request for the band - Please play Eastern Bloc when you tour the US. It is a personal fave.

Have been blasting Scissorgun everywhere and to anyone with ears (rare indeed)... Are there any plans to release it on vinyl? A Scissorgun picture disc would be the ultimate! Can't say it enough - Scissorgun JAMS!!!

Bought Scissorgun recently and am giving it a listen right now...damn sweet. Y'all still have it, you do. :-)

Just wanted to let you know how much I love Scissorgun. Can't stop playing it...excellent job! I do hope there will be more new material in the near future. If you come over to the U.S. later this year please include a Boston date. If not, hopefully you'll at least play NYC so I can make that. Would love to see you live!! Thanks again for the new material as well as the classic 80's releases.

Just listened to the clip of "Step Up!" and I am really impressed. It doesn't sound like CA ever stopped making records and it doesn't sound like they are trying to capture that same feeling from 1981. It sounds fresh and familiar at the same time. Come to NYC, and I volunteer to take the band out for a first class NYC meal.

Select gigs in the UK and USA? Oh happy day! Surely New York City is on that itinerary! I'd point out that Section 25 is also newly reanimated, so a joint tour might be something to consider. The clips also sound fantastic... Who knows? Maybe the high points of upcoming gigs will be the new material.

Saw at the LTM site that Crispy Ambulance is going into the studio early this year to record new material. Hope the creative fire is still there - play for yourselves first. "If the audience enjoys it then aren't [you] the lucky ones?" (CA interview from ~1979).

Thanks for the factory bands' CD reissues. My favourites are "The Wake" (Harmony Time) and, of course, Crispy Ambulance. I like the few live stuffs...atmosphere...strange feeling... Factory was the best label of all time!!
